Following a below par performance at the Baycurrent Classic, Matt Wallace will head into the Bank of
Utah Championship as one of the favourites at the Black Desert Golf Course.
The Utah Championship is known for hosting some of Golf’s best young talents, as it heads into its second tournament after Matt McCarty claimed the 2024 crown.
What to know about Matt Wallace
The 35-year-old has been a stern contender on the PGA Tour and European Tour since turning professional in 2012.
Wallace currently has 12 professional wins to his name and his highest world ranking came at 23 in July 2019.
While Wallace has five European Tour victories on his career card, most notably at the Omega European Masters in 2024, the Englishman’s only win on the PGA Tour came in 2023 where he finished one stroke ahead of Nicolai Hojgaard at the Corales Puntacana Championship.
What did he say
As is the case with many Golfers, Wallace eyed a Ryder Cup call up this year. However, with the move failing to materialize, Wallace expressed that he wont give up on his dreams.

"Pressure in golf is like a ghost, It is there, you can’t see it but you can sense it. It really affects your swing sometimes,” Wallace said ahead of the Omega European Masters in August.
"You give it everything and I just haven’t had it.
"It has always been a driving force for me. Hopefully I can make that team at least one time in my career.
"This was a big year and a half of preparation to try and make the Ryder Cup team. Just coming up short probably is tough to take.”
